We survived the fourth Christian Game Developers Conference - five different continents were represented! Thanks to volunteers, progress is going well for the Spanish Version of the Interactive Parables. Still no progress on Jarod! :(

June, 2004

Gregg and I really need to wrap up the Interactive Parable lessons this month. :)  Actually, Gregg has done a great job to double-check the wording.  I need to decide on a new Bible Version and edit those in, get the pictures worked out and converted to black/white, get an ISBN number, etc.  Whew, lots to do.  Plus conference planning crunch time!

Great news!  The Lord has provided Michael who is interested in helping to finish Jarod's Journey.

January, 2004

Nothing much to report.  CGDC 04 is scheduled for July 30 & 31st, 2004.  Web site is CGDC.

Still recovering from the conference!  God did a wonderful work again!  Thank you Lord.

Local newspaper ran an article on me.  Now you can see my ugly picture (and son Jacob on the desktop of the PC behind).  Click here or picture for article.

Praise God we have another helper!  Flare will be helping us with writing to finish up the interactive fiction version of Jarod.  Richard can then focus on the 3D mock-up.

I was a nervous through the interview but survived.  Some folks at CCN have been asking for screen shots (kind of boring for interactive fiction, but here are some that have photos on them).

The religion reporter from my local paper will interview me in January thanks to the Wall Street Journal article.

Also, if you don't want to hassle downloading and installing Jarod, you can now play on-line.  You miss out on a lot of features though, so I do encourage you to download it today.  Specifically, you will not have any graphics, sound/music, or any useful linking of useful commands.

Play On-Line now.

A wonderful Christmas present from God!  Below is the snippet from the Wall Street Journal article where Jarod was mentioned. The article ran on the front page of the December 17th, 2002, Wall Street Journal! The reporter was Khanh T.L. Tran:

"Earlier this year, Mr. Cool, an 18-year-old college freshman at the University of Missouri in St. Louis, took up a new game called Jarod's Journey. It features the agnostic son of a Roman centurion and Jewish mother who is told by his dying father to go out and discover Jesus. As he explores cities from Antioch to Nazareth, his character asks questions about Christianity."

October 2002

I was interviewed by a Wall Street Journal interested in the Christian games "sector". The primary contact was due to the CGDC and she had found a press release.  But she asked how GraceWorks was started.  And asked about Jarod (of which, I'm trying to make progress on).
Glory to God!

The plan is to finish the text version and then work on a graphical version using Garage Game's Torque!

The one artist fell through but another is interested.  Praise God!

October 2001

Great News! Richard Patching of New Realm Software is partnering with us to finish Jarod! We also have a verbal commitment from a professional artist!

Sixth Annual Interactive Fiction Competition

October 2000

Jarod's Journey was entered in the competition. It is only a portion of the entire storyboard, but was enough to fill the competition's two hour limit (can't take longer than two hours). If you have the time, click above and be a judge of the competition. There were 53 games submitted, but you only have to test 5 of them (and spend no more than 2 hours on each before assigning a score). The judging period lasts until November 15th. GraceWorks Interactive also donated some CD Now Gift Certificate prizes this year.

If you only want to play Jarod's Journey, look below for download options. These are free, so download and enjoy. Do provide your feedback though so the products can be improved.
